Luigi XV Arte Povera
The technique used for this pair of chests of drawers is called “Arte Povera”, not to be confused with rustic furniture of little value: at the time, the artisans prepared prints to be colored and glued later to satisfy the request for decorated commodes and to remain within a certain cost, instead of meticulously hand-painting directly on the wood of the furniture.
